Outdoor Science Lesson

Today was a beautiful day, so we decided to take our science lesson outside!  This past week we have been studying the five senses and using our senses to describe different items- so, we put our senses to work!  Our assignment today was to make a chart with columns for each of the senses and apply our senses to describe "A Day on the Playground."  We took notes on our senses chart of what we saw, heard, tasted, smelled, and felt on the playground.  Next week, we will use the charts to write a letter to someone who has never been to our school and describe what that person could expect if they came to spend a day on our playground.  It was very nice to get to sit outside and enjoy the breeze while enhancing our ability to use our senses for writing.

Play Ball!

The kids enjoyed a fun game of kickball at P.E. with Coach Jackson!  It was hot outside, but they loved it!  Of course, being outside and playing competetive games are two of their favorite things!

Dance Classes

This is right up Christian's alley!
We are so fortunate that Emily Tschiffely is offering after school dance classes at Bell Academy. She is offering four different types of classes. This semester classes are open to Pre-K through 2nd grade and next semester's classes will be open to 3rd through 6th grades. To get the kids interested and excited, she came one day during our P.E. time and gave a quick lesson. The students absolutely loved it and danced their socks off! The 4th graders did great and have some serious dance moves!
Charles sure knows how to dance!

JAGUARS!

The students of Bell Academy have spoken!  The kids were given the opportunity to recommend and vote on a school mascot and school colors.  We are excited to announce that we are now the Bell Academy Jaguars!  As you can tell from the blog page, our new colors are Blue and Gold! The students were very excited to have a voice in this big decision!  And- I must brag on our fabulous fourth graders... they nominated the colors blue and gold!
